II Chakra - Svadhisthana

The Second Chakra, or Sacral Chakra, governs the realm of emotional and physical pleasure, sensuality, sexuality, joy, and creativity as reproduction. It represents the center of emotional energy, sexual, artistic, and material pleasure. It is also the seat of fears and negative fantasies related to sexuality and relationships. Its characteristic color is orange, and its keyword is “I feel.” It is located three finger-widths below the navel and, on the back side, above the sacrum. Physically, it is connected to the reproductive system, intestines, the lumbar area of the spine, kidneys, bladder, and gonads. When the Second Chakra is unbalanced or blocked, there is a loss of emotional control, swinging between euphoria and apathy, base instincts, anger, and distrust — ultimately harming oneself and others. If this imbalance is neglected for a long time, it can manifest as impotence, frigidity, sexual problems and dissatisfaction, promiscuity, kidney and bladder disorders, urinary issues, infertility, and reproductive dysfunctions. By rebalancing the Second Chakra, the self-healing process is activated, as its energy expands to the other energy centers, encouraging a person to appreciate life and improve it positively. Connecting with emotions and understanding whether we are repressing certain feelings helps us acknowledge and honor what we feel, allowing us to consciously release emotions in a healthy and non-harmful way.
