I Chakra - Muladhara

The First Chakra, or Root Chakra, is the energy center that represents grounding and survival. It is the realm of primary instincts and is connected to physical earthly existence. Its characteristic color is red, ranging from lighter to darker shades. Complementary colors are black, brown, and gray.
The First Chakra is located in the perineal area, between the anus and the genitals, at the base of the spine. Physically, it is also connected to the kidneys, intestines, blood, legs, and adrenal glands. This vortex absorbs the Earth’s energy, connecting to it through the legs, our roots. It symbolizes materiality, self-assertion, stability, self-confidence, and universal material manifestation. When the First Chakra is unbalanced, blocked, or overactive, one may experience strong insecurity, apathy, low self-esteem, discouragement, resistance to change, aggressiveness, and financial issues. It is important to nourish and rebalance this energy center when facing major life transitions that undermine security and stability (moving, separation, divorce, relocation, a new job, a lifestyle or environmental change, etc.). On a physical level, various disorders may arise: fatigue, exhaustion, intestinal issues (hemorrhoids, constipation), anorexia, kidney-related problems, and adrenal gland dysfunction (which affects adrenaline production, increasing during fear due to its connection with survival instinct). A harmonious and vital First Chakra creates strong physical energy that stimulates the desire to stay grounded and face life with perseverance and determination.
